RIP MICHEAL SIMONS

Forum for players in Houston, TX and surrounding communities.

Postby Fooser_ace on Tue Jul 24, 2012 12:46 am

As Houston’s longtime Foosball Tournament Director and Promoter, he held the respect of thousands of players and promoters alike. In 2007 he was awarded the prestigious Texas Legend of Foosball Award for his longtime commitment and passion for the sport. His loss will be felt around the Foosball community worldwide and his memory will be honored forever.

Rest Now, my friend, my brother, my Legend...

Goodbye for now Mike Simons. I will always remember the great times we shared. Hope you will be there to help pull the rest of us thru to the other side. I know you are with many old freinds who have already gone before us. God Bless Mike and all his family and freinds.

I'm so sorry to hear this. I wouldn't have been able to join this game a couple of years ago if it weren't for his kindness and patience. May he rest in peace.

 I didn't know him near as long as many of you, but for the 5 years I did Mike has been a consistent rock in Houston foosball. You always knew where to find a tournament, and as fair and open to players new and old as anyone could be. He will be missed.

My prayers, thoughts and condolences go out to Mike’s family, friends and Foos family. This is a very sad time for Foosball in the loss of a great promoter and Legend. Not only will Foosball not be the same in Houston, it will not be the same in the State of Texas. I always enjoyed getting to Texas State early to visit with Mike and picking his brain on promoting and setting up tournament rooms for big events. I would usually get more ribbing from him than Foos Intel, but what I did get out of him has been very valuable. Mike has forgotten more about Foosball than most of us will ever know. You are truly one of a kind and will be missed, but never forgotten. Say hello for me to our ole friend Bart. Rest In Peace ole buddy...

It is difficult for me to find the right words to express what the loss of Mike Simons means to me personally and to our foos community. Fortunately, he has many other friends who are better than I at finding the right words. RIP Mikey.

A lot of people got crazy stories, of Mike on the road, at tournaments, ect.. I never really traveled w/Mike and my most fond memeories are mainly outside of foosball. The one memory that keeps popping up is when Mike and I went to the movies one afternoon and when we got back, my little one Christian asked "Where have you been, where did you go?" I said "we went to the movies."
Christian asked Mike "Your dating my Mom?" Mike replyed " Yeah, Im gonna be your new Daddy now!" Boy, it was so funny... poor Christian ran away crying, lol I was like "Miiike!" I had to comfort him for a couple days and explain to him Mike was just kiddin. Every time Mike came over he had his own Chair, the kids knew not to sit in his chair or Mike would go over and try to sit on them...lol

The Blackburn''s are so very sad and Mike will be missed! Mike, your chair is here when ever you need it! :)

Once again "Our Fooser Family" stepped up!

Tracy L & the Showdowns Tourney raised $331.00 and with the $540.00 raised at the tonights Concert Pub Tourney it totals a wopping $871.00 for Mike's family!!!

I have enclosed monies raised along with the card everyone signed and will be given to Mike's Mom Lillie signed... Mike's Fooser family :)

Cissi has been collecting donations as well through a paypal acct and will pass that on to Lillie as well.

It was also nice to see Jerry raising $$ at The Texas Foosers 1 Yr anniversary touney up North (Dallas), Im sure the family apprieciates all we have done to ease their pain and grief during this very difficult time.

Thanks again guys ...You Rock!!! :D
