FIGHT FOR THE CASH OPEN BYP
SRO SPORTS BAR LOCATED AT THE NORTHWEST MALL ON LOOP 610 AND HWY 290 IN HOUSTON TX. 77092

DATES FOR THE 5 QUALIFIERS ARE
JULY 14TH
AUGUST 11TH
SEPTEMBER 8TH
OCTOBER 13TH
NOVEMBER 10TH
THE FIGHT FOR THE CASH MAIN EVENT WILL BE HELD ON DECEMBER 8TH
$20.00 PER TEAM ENTRY FEE INTO ALL QUALIFIERS. ALL MONEY WILL BE HELD UNTIL THE MAIN EVENT.
THE TOP 16 PLAYERS WILL DRAW EACH OTHER TO DETERMINE THE 8 QUALIFING TEAMS.
THESE 16 PLAYERS WILL EARN THEIR WAY INTO THE MAIN EVENT AND WILL NOT PAY TO ENTER

A LAST CHANCE DRAW YOUR PARTNER WITH A $5.00 ENTRY PER PLAYER WILL BE HELD BEFORE THE MAIN EVENT FOR THOSE WHO PLAYED IN AT LEAST 3 QUALIFIERS BUT DID NOT GET INTO THE TOP 16. IT WILL BE SINGLE ELEMINATION AND WILL ONLY PLAY OUT UNTIL 4 TEAMS REMAIN. THESE 4 TEAMS WILL BE SEEDED INTO THE MAIN EVENT. NO LAST CHANCE PLAYER WILL BE PARTNERED WITH A QUALIFING PLAYER. THE HIGHEST PLACING LAST CHANCE TEAM WILL WIN $100. A TIE BREAKER WILL BE DECIDED BY 1 GAME TO 7.

A TOTAL OF 12 TEAMS WILL BE IN THE MAIN EVENT
ALL QUALIFIERS WILL START AT 6:30 PM FOLLOWED BY THE TRADITIONAL NO 2 PRO BRING YOUR PARTNER BIRTHDAY BASH EVENT.
QUALIFING POINTS ARE AS FOLLOWS
ALL PLAYERS WILL RECEIVE 2 POINTS EACH TIME THEY ENTER AND WILL ACCUMULATE ADDITIONAL POINTS FOR THE FOLLOWING PLACES.
1ST=12 POINTS, 2ND= 9 POINTS, 3RD= 7 POINTS, 4TH= 5 POINTS, 5TH/6TH= 3 POINTS, 7TH/8TH= 1 POINT
NO POINTS FOR 9TH OR HIGHER.

The 16 team bracket will be filled as follows,
1-4 will be the last chance teams, 5-8 will be byes. the 16 qualifing players will be drawn 1 by 1 to fill the brackets starting from 9-16 on the chart. the first 4 of those teams will get the byes, the next four will be playing a last chance team.

I am really looking forward to this. I hope we have a great tourn out for it. The possibility for a huge payout is really good. I know from what I have heard and seen so far on the board, there is a lot of interest in it. Running it together with the No-Two-Pro should really kick up that event too. (am I still pro rated?) :wink:

I am planning on playing with a few differant partners in the qualifyer. I plan to play goalie in 2 or 3 and forward in 2 or 3. I know I spoke to Tracy Mac, he too is planning on playing with multiple partners. I think it is going to be great fun for all.
Lets everyone pass the word and build up the B-Day Bash with the qualifyer. Remember, we are trying to kick start Houston Foos again. Good luck to everyone who tries to qualify and good luck to those who have to go thru the last chance draw qualifyer.
Its time to kick ass again in Houston. I know some Dallas players and some Austin players have expressed interest. If we get some and we dont need many, but if we get some out of town players in to try to qualify it will only lead to a better No-Two-Pro. Time to rock and roll. Line your partners up and lets get ready to rumble.

Ditto that too! I have talked to a few players as well and they all said the same thing. So I think that will be fun and makes for some intriguing match ups!

My only concerne is the Start time. If this thing takes off like I think it will, I don't think there is enough time to finish 2nd tourney. We had a 12 team tourney last Bash and couldn't finish it. Guess we will have to wait and see.

PS we need to hook up on one of these tourney's. Can't remember the last time we teamed up. That way, I will have at least one tournament were I am not yelled at for getting all the Breaks and being lucky! :roll:

I really like the idea of this and I talked with Daniel Zepeda at Texas State and he thought that people in Austin and SanAntonio would make their way to Houston for this. I am excited about getting it kicked off!

I was talking to Daniel Z at the Friday tournament, and was asking him his thoughts on the Fight For Cash, and he liked it but said it would be hard to come to Houston City and the FFC in the same month. So then i thought of an idea, why not have the First one at Houston City. That would get the word out at the Tourney and may intice some people to get in and Fight. Thoughts?

That's a great idea. Are you sure it was yours and not Daniels? I know how you forget those kinds of details sometimes. Plus, it is a really good idea.

Well, you know I did have a drink and I do remember I think I told Daniel it was his idea but that I was going to take credit. Or it was MY Idea and I was going to give him credit. Can't remember now. BUT if i had to guess i would guess it was my idea.

Yes, we all know you had a few drinks and was very relaxed. I think that must be the perfect condition for winning a foosball tournament. It has to be....or you wouldn't of let yourself get that way, right?

What really happened was: I was talking to a 2 drink LT and he was talking and talking and talking and then he was brining up about the Qualifier and I said it sounds great, but I don' think I could make two trips on the same month, that is a bit too much. Then in that tiny brain of LT, a small spark started and he mentioned that maybe we should have the first qualifier at Houston City. Then he begged me to play with him in one of the qualifiers, I guess he is tired of Randy or something...(LOL)...of course I am joking with the last part, but he does deserve credit for being 2 drinks drunk and came up with a good idea..

Lets end the Exaggerating, it was 3. That's First. Sadley I was guilted into stopping at 3 until we got to Finals. Sadly, there was no Finals so i could have drank more and nothing would have changed. Learn a lesson here RANDY!

Favorite Part of the Night was after Team Batman put the Smack Down on T-Mac and Paul, I had to spend like 20 Minutes talking T-Mac out of Depression. Had to remind him it was Double elimination and he still had a chance and to Cheer up. He was stabing his food extra hard with his fork. Pretty Funny Stuff!

Man I must have been Drinking! I will tell you this though. I will play in one with you. You have not lived until I have played Goalie for you in a match. Trust me it's pretty amazing! Ask anyone.

2 drinks drunk...hahahahaha that's some funny stuff right there!

I have never seen LT buzzed. Goes straight from completely sober to falling down drunk. Crazy right?

We didn't play T-Mac and Paul. Also, T-Mac doesn't use a fork or silverware when he eats. He attacks his food just like everything else. His Mom once gave him milk and cookies as a kid...he took the cookies into a death-roll to the bottom of the milk before he would eat them. He usually eats in the backyard now.

LT's 2 row options:
1) set up for a pull, fast toss slamming the bumper to the wall, then swing and hope for contact.
2) set up for a push, toss to big dot for open hand push-kick and act surprised during stuff.
He runs a good D though.

HAHAH!!! Of course I will play in a qualifier with you. Hell I would like to play in a qualifier with LT, Randy, Paul, T-mac. All you guys rock.. I mean there are other players too..It is all good LT, I can play goalie incase Randy and Paul steam roll your shot....I sometimes can shoot from the back. Ask T-mac. I am ok..

WOW! Can you believe it. I am actually getting excited about playing again.

Ronny Joiner and Mr King will be winning the first qualifyer. I was just wondering, who is taking second and third? :wink:

I plan to win one or two with T-Mac also. Possibly one with some one else. Maybe another with Ronny. So we uuummm basicly need 15 more to qualitfy. :lol:

Has anybody seen a flier to Houston City? We Austin and San Antonio folks are interested. Who would I play the first Qualifier with hmmm..Randy, Paul, LT, Pat...Houston has soo many great players, it would be an honor to play with any of the guys out there..I hope I can make it. but if Houston City is the same month I can only attend one of the two big events..

DZ, I hooked up with LT for this first one last month. But we will definitely need to do one of these! LT and I need to redeem ourselves after last Friday's fiasco! haha

I only know that whoever we play will get our best game this time. I am expecting some intense matches.
