Currently, the JTSPA Calendar shows a DYP/BYP combo for December 25th.

Our location, UBC, WILL be open. However, we need to know if there will be a worthwhile turnout to justify this schedule.

If we get prompt feedback, I can reschedule the combo night by adding the $10 BYP to the Limited event listed on December 18th. Keep in mind that if I do this, the BYP will be at 7:00 PM, and the Limited will be at 9:00 PM.

Please respond quickly so I can make the adjustments in time for everyone to make their plans.

I will also have to decide if we're going to cancel BOTH events on the 25th, or keep the DYP.

When you respond, make sure you sign your post. Unsigned posts WILL NOT be considered as seriously as posts signed by players I know will try to attend.

OK....... does that mean you guys are in for the 25th or the 18th?

I've already gotten word that a group from Orlando is more interested in coming for two events on the 18th, if that makes a difference in any decision making.

Personally, I'd like to cancel all events on the 25th. I just need to know what day is better for the players to attend.

Either one is good for me but the 18th would probably be better. The 18th would probably get a bigger contingent of O-Town folks as well.

Based on responses to this subject, including: Private Messages, text messages, phone calls, emails and face to face conversations; I am currently leaning towards moving the $10 No Handicap BYP to the 18th.

If we get enough responses from those who are serious about attending, I will also consider moving the DYP from the 25th to the 18th. That would give us THREE events on the 18th with payouts likely to exceed $500.

If we do this, we'll have to start earlier than 7:00 pm. I think if we start at 5:00 pm we'll have enough time to finish by 2:00 am. In addition, I would have the DYP start at 5:00, the Limited at 7:00 and the BYP at 9:00. Please remember that the DYP and the Limited would both be handicapped.

If we DON'T move the DYP to the 18th, I would keep the Limited at its 9:00 time and start the BYP at 7:00.

At the current response rate, I expect that we won't have ANY events on the 25th.

Please respond promptly with opinions, questions and commitments to attend so I can make appropriate adjustments to our calendar.

That sounds good. We don't want to start too early so that any out of towners can make it but we def. don't want to run too late....

Well it IS a Saturday, so most of the Orlando crew should be able to make a 5:00 start time.

Hell, I'm more worried about the local players getting the final word on our schedule in time to plan an attending.

The O-Town boys don't seem to have any problems keeping up with us on NetFoos, JaxFoos and our google calendar.

Yeah it seems that O-towners aren't as technologicaly challenged as Jax locals...18th is good for me. If any of the out of towners need a couch to crash on I've got 2. Anyone except Ray....he can sleep on the porch and use a litter box. :D

For those of you waiting for our final decision on our Christmas Tourney, here it is:

We will have three events on Saturday the 18th.

At 5:00 pm, we will have a handicapped DYP. The base entry fee will be $10 for players with 1700+ local points or $5 for players with fewer than 1700.

At 7:00 pm, we will have a handicapped 3500 Limited Doubles event. Your team CAN exceed 3500 local points, but if it does there will be a handicap penalty* ON TOP of the normal handicap. Base entry for ALL players will be $5.

At 9:00 pm, we will have our monthly main event, the No Handicap BYP. The base entry fee for ALL players will be $10.

Due to combining these events at the last minute, we will have to charge a registration fee in order to provide add-ins for all three events. The registration fee will be: $5 for all three events or $3 per event. There will be NO maintenance fees or PA dues collected.

Add-ins will be as follows: Main Event BYP= $100 ; 3500 Limited= $50;
DYP= $50. That should get our total payouts over $500 for the night.

We will do our best to accommodate out of town players, but ALL players must either call Hugh or Chris OR arrive, AT LEAST 30 minutes prior to their first event. Calls to the bar WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED for phone-in registration!

*The Limited Doubles handicap penalties and other info available at .

If you have any questions after visiting the JaxFoos site, send me a Private Message here or call, email or text me.

Alright guys, our Christmas tourney is this Saturday. I hope everyone is ready!

We've got a Split-Draw scheduled for Wednesday. If you don't have a partner yet for the 3500 Limited event, the Split-Draw gives you a GREAT opportunity to check out potential partners.

While I have this chance, I was just wondering.......... what's wrong with the Orlando players? Except for Al Esterson, none of the O-Town boys has been able to show us any consistency on the table! Has the balance of power shifted? Do J-Ville players just defend home turf too well? WHO will take up the challenge and show us that you O-Town boys can still Foos!

The J-Ville Christmas Tourney is tomorrow!
Here's hoping we have a strong turnout.

For those who can't make it, have a safe and fun Holiday.
For those who ARE coming, drive safely and get here on time. We're probably gonna be on a tight schedule with 3 tables, so if you are running late call me or Chris to see if we can work with YOUR E.T.A.

Good luck and good foosin' to all!
