Thanks for all the feedback so far in order to best set our events. Below is a summary as well as other ideas/questions. Once finalized details will be posted on the main NetFoos South Florida Foosball web page.

- Wednesday nights at Strikers has been changed to Tuesday nights at Premier (approx. 8pm start time).

- Striker's Beginner DYP at 7pm is being changed to either a High/Low DYP open to everyone or to an Open Singles tournament (at least until we start getting more beginners out again). How does everyone feel about making the tournament type the Tournament Director's decision and we put on the schedule that Saturday at Strikers at 7pm is a "Specialty Event: Either Beginner DYP, High/Low DYP or Singles (Tournament Director to decide based on player input)"?

- Starting in April we will be alternating Fridays between Murphy's and Premier (last Friday will still be the Plaque Night BYP at Strikers). New question for this one... Should we do a points race league again, or should we go back to the regular DYP? Should we keep the $10 entry fee that we have been using for league if we do a regular DYP to have bigger prizes?

- The last Murphy's league night on 3/21/2008 is the same weekend as the O-Town tournament. Should we shorten the league night by 1 week and have the final week and prize distribution on 3/14/2008? Or, if someone who is not going to Orlando (hopefully everyone will go -- I definitely recommend it) ran the final Murphy's league night we could have the awards ceremony at the BYP at Strikers the following Friday (3/28/2008). We should come to a decision on this this Friday at Murphy's.

I think that is all the main items we have been talking about lately, please post your input here.

Thanks,
Mark

Singles League!! Just kidding. We don't have enough tour type players down here to make it work.
Austin Texas has the perfect set up to me. I wish we could get enough players to have it going like theirs.

Anyhow, yeah.

Hey. Below are my comments...............................

1. For Premier on Tuesdays, there is a little room in the Start time. 8-8:30... we don't want to discourage anyone from coming out even if they feel they are late. We want to develop more of a presence here so that we can get more tables and better positioning!

2. As for the Beginner's DYP on Saturdays at 7, I think it is great that we postpone it for a while. I much rather prefer to have either Singles of High/Low DYP. This will open it up for everyone, and those wanting to have fun warming up for the Open Draws.... (However, rumor has it that Nigea is building an army at Cardinal... they have 7-8 players... he says they need to learn how to hit the balls before they come to Strikers. hopefully we can bring some of them out and get a good beginner crowd again)

3. Alternating Fridays is great!!! This will also help us to build the presence at Premier. I think $10 would be ok, especially if it will be 100% payback.

4. Ending the league on the 14th is fine with me. However I may be biased. I know that there are a lot of people who are planning on going to O-Town, and hopefully we can get some of the non-travelers to come too. South Florida needs to represent!

5. We definitely need to make sure to share all of this information with everyone, as those of us here know, NetFoos is a great way to communicate, but we do have many who don't come to the forums. Mark, I recommend that you send out your questions in e-mail format too, so that everyone will get a chance to respond.

I guess I covered everything.... See you Friday!

Hi again...

After thinking about this more I'm starting to second guess trying to get Premier going with "official" tournaments. I just don't think we have enough active players right now to support 3 locations. If we keep our focus on Strikers and Murphy's I think we can work on building those turnouts instead of diluting our established locations. Once things start growing more we can see about adding more tables to Premier.

Here is my proposed/revised schedule info to start in April...

- No official pick up games during the week like we had a Strikers on Wednesday and Premier on Tuesday. These have been hit or miss lately and it may just work best to have players call each other (or post on the forums) to get pick up games going where it works best for them.

- Strikers 7pm Specialty Event will be a determined by the Tournament Director based on the player input (High/Low DYP, Open Singles, Goalie Wars, etc. -- maybe even some 2-Ball Roller Ball). Of course, if we start getting more beginners out again we can always change this back to a Beginner DYP.

- Other Strikers Saturday 9pm and "Last Friday of the Month BYP" events to remain the same.

- Murphy's to go back to a regular Friday DYP ($10 entry?) after league is over.

- Maybe we could get a *first Friday* of the month BYP or a "Featured DYP" going at Murphy's with some prize money added from the bar to make things a little more exciting. If this sounds good I'll talk to the bar next week about seeing what we can get going. Hopefully, if this goes well, I would think we could get them to add in every week.

- Lastly, I'm keeping an eye out to buy a decent used table to replace the older one at Murphy's. If anyone hears of a good price on a used table please let me know.

I think that covers it all, let me know what you guys think.

Thanks!

One more thing... Should we raise the entry fees for the 9pm tournaments to $10 all the time? With all the other costs (gas, quarters, bar tabs, food, etc.) this small increase may help make the payouts worthwhile. What do you all think?

By all means 10 bucks is nothing and it would reward the winners. 5 bucks it still costs me more in gas if I get lucky and win Shocked

I think it is smart to not delute the local scene with to many little get togethers.

Make it mean somthing when you have a tourny.

By the way Mark you are handeling all of the foos stuff very well keep it up.

Mark,
I agree, $10 makes it worth while. As you and I talked about it this weekend, Murphy's and Strikers are two good locations. Premiere would work if we had a strong enough market of players to support the third location.

Like you said, we will keep the table there and if in the future it picks up at least we still have that location to work with.

Thanks Mark, Keep up the good work!!
