OH MY GOD! No... that is not me laughing, that is my teeth chattering together, because I am freeeeeezing. Being from Michigan I thought I could handle it, but... it seems that 4 1/2 years in South Florida has seriously thinned my blood.
Well.... we made it. We ended up driving straight through, and John and I have both agreed that when and if we ever return, we will FLY! The hotel is nice, but our bed is foam (tempurpedic maybe... very weird feeling if you've never slept on one like it)
We'll keep you all posted on the status of our South Florida presence here in this thread.
'Til next time!

Well day one over and Jennifer represented S FL with a 1st place in the DYP!!!!! There were 21 teams including some pro masters. They won the winners bracket. There are some incredible players here, I couldn't believe how good some of their snake shots are. They get the ball out so far and have such good timing.
Anyhow, Jen had a tough road but they came through beating a pro master at the end that has just under 3000 Points.
I drew with an amateur and we won 2 matches, but it was against Ryan Moore in one and his sister in the other match. I thought ryan would come out messing around, but he shot nothing but snake shot, and boy can he shoot that thing!
Mark got 4th place in the draw.
In goalie wars Jen won two matches.
I got destroyed, 2 and out.
So anyways, It was so cool that Jen won the draw, with all the teams and skill here.
Looking forward to tomorrow when I think some of the top players in the country will be here, like Billy Pappas and them.

Well good Morning to our so fl Players , first let me say that I think Ms Jen is a Champion in the DYP "GREAT JOB" now this girl can repersent ,not bad for her first event out on the road , she must have nerves of steel, ok Mark, not bad looks like you are playing pretty good I really wanted to be there but the way work is right now I had to sit this one out . I'll be ready for the U.S. OPEN for sure.if you get time later call me and give me some updates on things , ok John you have the same luck i have with the dyp's not being able to draw that power forward we are looking for but hang in there I know you got to be playing well any way, at a tournament like this you might be playing good on one day and then not so good the next day but then on your second wind oh hell watch out , ok play tuff ,stuff when needed and go get 'em like when you played with me these last two weeks ok I'll be here and a watching ,out for now SWEET DADDY D |

Jim my forward was good, he was an amateur, but I think he hurried too much with the passing. We beat ryan moore, promaster, and some guy who I heard played for so many years. I'm happy just getting that match against ryan cause he wasn't messing around. I'm just happy for Jen, cause the competition is crazy here.

Ok... I've decided I am being way to ambitious here. I am registered for 20 events... yes I know, I'm crazy... however.... I want to learn and the best way to do that is to play, right?
Today was mostly singles, (which I now hate with a passion , but there were some events that were doubles....
John and I played together in Handicapped Doubles today. Our first match was against Greg Platt and Peter (some name I can't spell) from Orlando. We were doing very well, but our lack of experience got the best of us. We won our second match and then were immediately mutilated after at 2 something in the morning. (This is still very fresh in my mind as it is now 2:40 AM)
I also played in Designated Mixed, with Justin Shaw.... (man what a fighter he is) I wish I would have played better.... my goal now is to really develop a shot... not having "one" seriously hurt me in this event. We won 1, then had to play Dusty and Jesse.... ()($*)@(*$) It was a great battle and I even got one stuff... how I don't know, but it happened then things got put on hold for awhile and we didn't play again until very late... I was out of the "forward mindset" and I didn't do very well.
Anyhow, lets see how I do in Open Mixed tomorrow... I still don't have a partner, but with 27 ProMasters... I have a chance
I am thouroughly exhausted.... Night...
Jen
P.S. Jim... who did you want to sign your Almanac??? |

|
BIG NEWS!!! John won Beginner Singles!!! We'll bring the trophy to Strikers next weekend to show it off I am soooo proud of my hubby! The final match was recorded, so now we will have a great keepsake of our first Kentucky Kick-Off... there were 23 players entered and he topped them all, taking king seat and winning the finals in the first match!!! He played very well all day.
Today was crazy!!! we had a ton of events. I played in the following:
1. Open Mixed;
2. Beginner Singles;
3. Friday DYP; (partner reminded me of Sweet Daddy D and had a wicked pull kick)
4. Amateur Women's Dbls;
5. Women's DYP; (took second... played in the finals with my partner Louise Herring (from Ireland) against Tiffany Moore and Mary Wotherspoon, we needed to double dip... won the first match, and lost the second BUT... it was great, it was in the Finals area, and it was soooo much fun. We even got applause)
6. A Fundraiser DYP; (Beat John and his partner in the Finals... there were only 6 teams)
Tomorrow is a busy day... should be lots of fun.
Jen
(current tally: Jen, 1st in Wed DYP, 2nd in Womens DYP, 1st in Fundraiser DYP. John, 1st in Beginners Singles, 2nd in Funraiser DYP)[/b] |
