Ok here is what happend the other night.. we only we able to get 13 people so when the first team was eliminated the ( 2 losers flip a coin to see who get the guy that does not have have a partner yet) so one person would be in the tourny twice... i cant enter that in becasue the system will not let me... any ideas???
one more thing the system does not count in the stats for double dipping someone it only counts as one game at the end.... any thoughts???

Howdy Chase,
Foozkillah here from So Florida Foos... Wondering.. Which system are you using? So if there is a doubledip there is no way to record it, and if you play odd-man-in like we sometimes do here (first team eliminated flips a coin to see who gets a fresh shot with the last, or odd man), it won't let you record the same individual?
I was wondering exactly that.... Perhaps Grant or Mark Winker can answer that... Good luck on that. I myself proposed keeping all game scores online and adjusting the the league or regulars points more finely, as well as having a doubles vs singles score for everyone playing both.

Hi Chase,
For the odd number of players, currently the only way to make that work that I know of is to create a player named "Ghost Player" in the player database. You can name the player anything you like (Mr. X is another term I've heard for this). When you create the chart for the event the "odd guy out" is paired with "Ghost Player" and when the first team out flips the coin the winner takes over the role of "Ghost Player".
The main problem with this is that the stats for the player playing twice is not recorded under their name for their games as "Ghost Player", but the "Ghost Player" will start to develop stats of their own.
I'll keep this on my suggestion list to make a better system, but it may be a little while before I tackle that one as there are other ones that are more priority right now.
As for the double dipping stats, I do plan to add that feature to the system (it has been asked for by our local tournament directors as well). I hope to make it so that you can update past matches, so if you keep a record of your finals events somewhere you should be able to update the online stats once I add that feature.
For Foozkillah, someday I may add the points as an option as well, but that one may be a little ways off like the "Ghost Player" fix.
Thanks for the suggestions and I look forward to any more that you may have. |

Mark,
There has to be some group doing single swiss (double -elim) systems for tournaments like us that already have solved the problem of rating "ghost" players that play more than once in a tournament, or allow the recording of double-dip scoring.
If you follow chess tournaments... a double swiss has single-loss and second-loss brackets, and so on and so forth. |
