This is just a what/if can u set the system up to run your own point system... this would allow the entire community to work for there points... as in start everyone off at the same and then u can have a track record in points as well as the record on the system???
just a thought... having a point system would kinda be fun..... |

We have a basic points system in there already. It used the "Local Points" data to total a team's points and then displays the difference in the "Tournament Director Admin" and "Progress Chart". You can then create a points spot chart of what point differences are spotted what points.
Currently it is just a real basic system and someday it may grow into something a little more advanced (i.e. auto calculation of a player's points based on their win/losses in the system, etc.). Let me know if you want more info on the current basic system and I can post some more details here. |

The main feature of the current points system is that it will print the calculate differential between the two team's total points. For simplicity let's say you use a 0-5 ranking system for your players, if you have 1 point and your partner has 5 points and you play a team with each player having 2 points the system will automatically calculate the point differential.
Team 1: 1 + 5 = 6
Team 2: 2 + 2 = 4
Point Differential = 2
This value is listed on the "Progress Chart" next to all active and pending matches (as well as individual player points). You can find the "View Progress" link in the admin as soon as you have created the chart for the event. Below is a link to one of your events "Progress Chart" (NOTE: The points used by NetFoos to make these calculations are listed as "Local Points" in the admin):
http://www.netfoos.com/account/20/progress/218.html
Since the event listed above is completed, there are no point differentials listed -- they would be listed in the area up top where is currently says "No Matches On File". During an event you could reference this page to get the point differentials and then assign a point spot based on a "points spot chart system". A simple example point spot chart is below based on the 0-5 ranking system. You could create a chart based on the USTSA or IFP style points (i.e. similar to your 800 point starting point system that you have currently listed). Thus, based on the sample teams above, the match would be a 6-5-6 match.
0: Even Match (5-5-5)
1: First Drop (of each new game)
2: 6-5-6
3: 6-5-6 First Drop (of each new game)
4: 6-6-6
5: 6-6-6 First Drop (of each new game)
6: 7-6-7
7: 7-6-7 First Drop (of each new game)
8+: 7-7-7
NOTE: In the 6-5-6 and 7-6-7 matches, if the higher ranked team wins the first game they must go the the higher score again in the second game (i.e. in 7-6-7 they would need to go to 7 points again). Basically, the higher ranked team will only need to go to their lower score (i.e. 6 in a 7-6-7 match) in the next game after a loss.
Here is a basic summary:
- Enter the player's points into the "Local Points" section of the admin (you can use any points system you desire such as a 0-5 ranking or similar to the USTSA or IFP ranking). NOTE: This is currently not updated automatically -- you will need to update these points in the admin as needed.
- Create a chart to assign point spots based on point differential between the teams/players.
- The system will give you the point differential of the match and you can compare this to the points spots chart to get the points spots for the match.
Since there are so many options for a handicapping system, I haven't hard coded anything into the NetFoos system yet -- once we get enough people using it and get some more feedback I'll be able to get something a little more automated into the program.
Lastly, Jeff K. (our South Florida Foosball points system guy) please feel free to add to this post if it needs any clarification or correction |

Hey Chase, I'm definitely thinking about adding some sort of points tracking system into NetFoos. Lately I've been leaning towards an ELO type system that the tour is starting to use. I've already started playing around with it bit and when it is ready I'll likely introduce it in steps (less automated at first, but then moving to a fully automated version).
Also, thanks for the post on EZBoard -- we got a few new signups already =).

Chase, thanks for the beta test volunteering. I've added a new beta test feature to your account -- Photo Gallery. You can now upload photos to the photo gallery, player pictures and your main account photo. I just finished this recently so if you find any problems please let me know what went wrong as soon as you can.
You can access this feature by clicking the "Manage Photos" and "Upload Photos" in the new "Developmental Links" at the bottom of your left side links in the NetFoos Admin. Also, to view the photos in your main account webpages click the "Photos" tab. Let me know if you run into any troubles or have any questions.
Thanks!
