Woopin???
And now your calling yourself Rocket Shocked ? Maybe rickety Crying or Very sad !!! What the hell "NOBODY", have you been hanging around Horton? I think your having an identity crisis. On the EZ board your 20 grander. Now "NOBODY" at your advanced age it can't be mid life crisis. Because you are wwwaaayyy past that point in your life. Maybe alzheimers and you just don't remember who the hell you are Confused . Of course that would be great for the mental game. Because you would forget what the hell happened and why you lost to me again!!!!!
Hope to see you there
Nick
P.S. Is that going to be DYP, Open or what?

Hey R
Good to here from you. As I had said before that I boycotted all local Open dbls. It is just my opinion, but I don't like the way they are ran. Why drive from Ogden to play the same teams over and over. You and I've talk to Mike about it. And it his tourney so that is cool. But I just don't find it fun to win a match or 2 and then play the same teams. Thats just me if you guys are having fun that is cool to.
How is your game, you still shooting a pull (please don't tell me your shooting it open handed again LOL). Who are you playing with?
Hope to here from you soon

this question is for anyone......what do you think the ODDS are of myself and Lott winning open dubs ...or placing in the top five...................
consider all of the factors....
1. we have to qualify
2. we are both over 51
3. hes hasnt played in 15 years ...I was gone for 25 years
4. I will be shooting a shot that hasnt won open doubles since I won the 83 us open.......{ I think }
5. we will have to play a top seed the first or second round of the final 64
6. did I mention that no one over 50 has ever won a open event playing forward.......ever......{ I think}

just curious of what the odds would actually be?

All kidding aside. Alot depends on are you playing in all the events. Stamina is going to be a huge issue just to qualify. Odds are definetly against you. And I am assuming your looking for any extra motivation you can find. But Foreman won, the title at all most 50. And I would think there is other examples out there.
Really qualifying has to be your number 1 goal. And then battling your way thru after. Shooting a pushkick can be an advantage. People just don't shoot them anymore. Having said that, one of the advantages that Rico (of course there is alot more, he is a great player and a hell of a nice guy) has had is his shot. The unfamilliarity of it is a huge issue for us americans. We just don't face anything like it regularly.
The down side to shooting a push kick is the wear and tear. That is a long ways to shove that ball out there and snap.
But the strength of your game in my oppinion is. Mental toughness and guts. Those things are intangibles that can carry you far into the event.
I do believe you can and will compete at a very high level. But unfortunately your odds are slim. But nothing would make me happier than to prove me wrong.
good luck hope I can come say hi and play a couple of games on the side on the 22nd

I think the odds are 42.6 if you focus on your list as a deficit, possibly lower. However, the odds rise substantially when you tweak them to the positive i.e. include/replace with the bracketed below. You should have an advantage certainly in terms of the mental game.

1. we [get] have to qualify [and show those youngens]
2. we are both over 51 [and that brings in an element that can't be matched]
3. he hasnt played in 15 years [a fresh new perspective] ...I was gone for 25 years [again, a fresh yet mature perspective]
4. I will be shooting a shot that hasnt won open doubles since I won the 83 us open.......{ I think } [and they won't know what the freakin hell hit em]
5. we will have to play a top seed the first or second round of the final 64 [and that will allow you to demonstrate right off what they're up against]
6. did I mention that no one over 50 has ever won a open event playing forward.......ever......{ I think} [precedents are being set all the time]

I consider us a huge longshot....maybe thats why I m so in to it....Every year in every sport or game ..the players get together and play for the ultmate prize...The World Championship....when I was young ...I started thinking about the world championships five minutes after I was out of the current championships...all my practice , all my matches, for the year are targeted to one weekend........I relish the oppurtunity to play one ball at a time..as hard as I can in pursuit of ultimate prize....I have always rose to the occasion....Im a little nervous now at my age but thats a good thing...lol............I actually believe...I have a chance....that alone makes me dangerous.......
