South Florida Foosball Yearly Awards

Again this year we will be giving out local awards at the $7,000 South Florida Foosball Championships and we need your help to pick the winners. We need nominees for the following categories...

- Sportsman of the Year
- Forward of the Year
- Goalie of the Year
- Most Improved Player

Last year we did "write in the name" votes for these, however this year we will do it with pre-made ballots where you can circle the player names to cast your votes. To make this work please use the NetFoos contact form to send me your picks to go on the ballots (or post here or tell me in person). You can suggest multiple names for each of the categories and the top vote getters will be listed on the ballots at the October tournament.

Also, there has been a little talk about whether people should be eligible for these awards again if they won them last year. Please also let me know if you think people should be eligible to win these awards in consecutive years -- your feedback will help determine if we do this or not.

I'd have to agree that if the same person wins the Sportsman, Forward, Goalkeeper or most improved, so be it!

If they win and still stand out a year later, then they should have the same chances as everyone else. Think of it, if they stuck out that year and were still just a good and improved as before.

Maybe there should be a limit of three years in a row for each individual award. But they should deservedly have multiples if they stuck it out each additional year, and kept striving for excellence.
