It seems the only organized place is up in boca, but are there any players that play down here? I know there is a Tornado table at Toby's billiards on hollywood boulevard, but i went there on a saturday night and there were maybe 6 people there all playing pool. its a nice spot in the heart of downtown hollywood area. I had to settle for playing my wife, which was no fun since she has never even played.

Let me know if any of you play in my area too cause I want to test myself against other people than the Ones I play at work. Plus I noticed these tornado tables are different than what i'm use to at work.

There is a new foosball location in Broward County. Our first Draw Your

Partner will be this Saturday May 12th at 9 pm. Strikers Family

Sportscenter is located at 8500 NW 44 Street, Sunrise 33351.

They are at the SE corner of Pine Island and 44th Street.

They are contributing $50 cash to the tournament.

I live Pembroke Pines and sometimes have foosball

get togethers at my house. For more information call

me at 954-632-4820.

It was great to see all the new players at the first tournament at the Strikers Family Sportscenter location last night. I had a lot of fun and hope to see all of you out there again next week! It was great meeting all you (John, Vanyer, Charles, Carlos and Diana).

The results have been posted on the new Striker's NetFoos account, click the links below to take a look.

Yea I had fun last night, though it was a reality check, I hope to be able to play enough on this table to learn how to adapt to it. I think Van and Charles had fun too and definately want to learn. I'll see if I can get one other guy out there next Saturday.

Hey Nigel,

Hope you read my reply to you in PhillyFoos...

Will you be in SoFlo for biz (Dec 11-14 doesn't sound like family time ..)?

Too bad your foostuff doesn't have 3.5in by 6 or 7in circumference neoprene rubber wristbands, or even slapbands with hook&loops. Every snaker or snake-dabbler should have one or two or twelve..

Hey guys. I will be in Weston Fla. again during Xmas. I was looking at Sunrise Foosball site and saw a bunch of results but no future events. It seems you play on Wednesday and Friday and sometimes Saturday.
So what is going on from Dec 26th to Jan 3rd?
Thanks

Hey, "M.B." must be our friend from up north -- Merv! We'll be playing at Strikers on Friday and Saturday while you are in town. The info is below as well as the link to the informational web page. One night is a draw and one night is a bring.

December 2007 Plaque Nights
12/28/2007 (Friday) - Bring Your Partner (BYP - Strikers)
12/29/2007 (Saturday) - Draw Your Partner (DYP - Strikers)

(scroll to Tournament Calendar for the details)

Wednesday nights at Strikers usually has a few teams too and I imagine players will be playing on 12/26 and 1/2. Hope to see you then!

Cool, Thanks Mark.
Wow you have two nights in a row of foos!
What night do you get the bigger pool of players?
I would think the byps are more competitive, right?
If I showed up for the byp do you think there would be someone around who would need a partner?

Merv,

That weekend should be good as it is our "Plaque Night" for the DYP and BYP -- if you win you get your name on our "South Florida Foosball Champions" plaque =). The BYP's are more competitive, but we usually get our most players at the DYP's. For a partner, I would think someone would post in here to play so you'll have a partner before you get here. But, if not, there always seems to be at least a couple people who show up looking for partners that night.

Unfortunately it looks like I'll miss you that weekend, I am planning to go up to Jacksonville for their 2 day tournament that weekend (about a 5 hour drive). But, hopefully I'll be able to catch you on another night during your stay.

Here is the link to the Jacksonville flyer...

I don't know if Brian U. is going up for the tournament or not (hopefully he'll post in here to let us know). I think Jeff Maddux may be going, but outside of him and myself I don't know who else is planning on going up (I've heard some people talking about it so hopefully we'll have a few more).

Hmm, five hour drive. That counts me out. :(
I guess I will show up at Strikers and see who attends.

I just need to figure out where I can buy them in bulk.

Anyone know?

Hey Merv!

I'm sure you'll find a partner or two.. Arriving early makes sure you get to meet the Strikers crowd.

Yo Nigel...

I have Jeff (he runs Foozen.com, Iowa's foosboard) looking for those guys in Altoona that used to sell them at Worlds and other major Tornado stops. Most neoprene has that stupid slick nylon on top - useless. Need that neoprene with the sticky black outside and the nylon/cloth underlayer that wicks sweat away. They were also great as compression wristbands for guys that like to crank the pull or push... kept it all together, and also kept the joint warmed up. Now they're using them for running backs & wide receivers, to prevent slippage and fumbles for the running backs, & to increase the catch & grip area for receiving passes.

As for Jax warmup... if I'm not in Albany... sure! I might just have to play pickups at TrickShot Billiards in Albany. Looking more at Kentucky.

Merv

Are you a beginner? We have a beginner tourney at strikers every Saturday at 7pm before the regular DYP. Saturdays vary in the amount of players we have but we always have enough for a tourney. I believe it's the busiest night for our foos down here.

Hey Merv,

You should have said yeah! That's it! You're a beginner!

And bring your other beginner buddy, my old Worlds Rookie dubs partner, Eric "I have this pullkick" Dunn :P :o

It's cold and snowy up in the north, I agree... , but that's why I invented the portable atomic furnace & personal space heater! It warms the area wherever its needed! And after I invent "Glow in the Dark" marshmallows, I'll be all set!

And have you mastered your walking/dribbling snake yet? That should be lots of beginner fun!!

Ha, just don't radiate yourself too much with that furnace and marshmallows! :D
Reminds me of a SNL episode.

So will you be back for Jan 4th dyp?
