national dyp

A place for Utah foosers to communicate and exchange

Postby nick on Wed Dec 27, 2006 1:42 pm

On the ezboard they're talking about getting a national dyp. First place is $20,000.00 that you have to qualify for. It sounds awsome because you have a handicap system. Rookies would have a chance to draw one of the top 24 PMs and then it is seeded from there. Lee can you bring it over in the quote box.

It is a little tough to explain. But I'll try. There is going to be a circuit of 25 dyps regionally. And I believe if I understood this correctly, you have to qualify. Now this is supposed to take about 7 months till they have what they are calling the "World Series of Foosball". Somebody suggested Minnesotta for the finals. It really wouldn't supprise me.The reason is. If you look at all the IFP (Mary) events scheduled. There is nothing scheduled west of Colorado this next year. Phil is putting this together but I'm pretty sure Mary will be involved. I don't know who Phil is I just see his name attached to the thread. So that is were I am drawing my conclussion about IFP. It is on the neqw ez board

I was wrong about IFP being involved. It is a promoter by the name of Phil Kennedy. Some of you are probably familliar with him. I'm sorry it is hard to keep jumping from one board to this one.

Hi All,

I'm from the Chicago Net Foos site. I check in here from time to time just to see what's up in Utah. The Super DYP that Phil is referring to seems pretty complex, but yeah, it's a cool concept. Phil Kennedy has been in the promotional end of foosball for almost 30 years. He's from Texas and also runs the national foosball discussion forum. He's pretty fed up with USTSA, ITSF and all the changes/inconsistencies that plague US Foosball. He's formed his own players assocation called, simply, "1". This DYP is something he's doing to get this off the ground and establish a player base - I think it's brilliant and am fully behind him.

Hope this explains things a little. Take care and hope you're all having a great Holiday Season!!!!

Amy

Hi Amy :) ,

Thanks for all the info - it sounds interesting. Hope you and Frank are doing well. Will I see you in Vegas this March??

Hi L -

No, I won't be going to the HOFC in March - it's looking more and more as if Kronko and I are going to MD State in February, Minnesota State in August and hopefully, World's in September. My vacation time is being eaten up by a lot of other things, so I have to pick and choose my tourneys pretty carefully. Frank already has the time off for HOFC, since he's the police and has to submit his vacation requests by November of the previous year! I don't know if he's going to go or just stay home and veg around the house. We are really eyeing Vegas in September, though!

We're doing well, thanks for asking - hope you and yours are doing good too!

Amy
