We all have our individual motivations for playing foosball. For me foosball is not about the end result, it's about a process. It's a mental challenge with me. I'm in competition with only myself regardless of there being an opponent, or a "so-called" winner. If I play and I and win, for me I have not beaten anyone - that is not where my satisfaction really comes from. Likewise, if I lose I do not feel like a loser either. I see all players as winners, regardless. The winning is in the effort, and the fun is in maybe doing one small thing just a little better than I did it before. I'm in it for me, for what I get out of it. I measure my success against me. Many of us, I'm sure, get caught up in their "so-called" status. If someone compliments they feel great about themselves, if they are criticized it sucks the life out of them. For me it really doesn't matter what anyone's view is, good or bad, or what kind of box they try to put me in. I could be the so-called "best player" out there and still feel bad about myself and that would come out in a poor disposition and nasty attitude toward other players - where would the success be in that?
I love foosball and what I get out of it.
The above was written for the purpose of sharing only and not for the purposes of debate. I'd love to hear what keeps you playing and interested.
