Foosball table

Anything and everything related to foosball

A friend ended up moving and giving me his foosball table. The table is in great shape, the only problem I see is that when you rotate the men, the spin is rather loose. For example, the goalie might be set and a ball traveling at a not so high speed hits the goalie rotates the goalie and ends up going through for a goal, how would I be able to tighten up the spin, or what parts do I need to replace? Or is this common?

Enjoys2BSancho,

Interesting that you mention your men & rods spin too loosely. Usually this is a problem with men that aren't counterweighted, meaning the feet of the man will tend to stay down, as they do with the metal EuroSoccer and many other types of foosball "men" or "player figures". These would not be affected, however, by a ball traveling at medium speed.

The higher-end American style tables like Tornado do have that problem, specifically in singles play. Most players leave their men facing about 30 to 40 degrees from the vertical, towards the opposing goal. This is usually sufficient to stop slower or medium speed balls from going through unhandled men, those men on unhandled rods. The angled men will also definitely stop and even kick back high speed or hard hit balls.

Hope this helps.
