Touring:

Worlds sucked this year but not as bad as Brunswick. The important thing for Sotuh Florida foos to realize that foosball as a REGIONAL SPORT will need to step up. Sure, foosers will always need to share on a National level in one form or the other but the organizing you do local is what keeps the sport alive.

I like this site/forum.

Worlds sucked

Did it ever Phil<
You have to ask yourself why? It’s not a mystery to me because Valley has wrenched every bit of romance out of the game in order to sell Tables. What they fail to realize that tournaments are not exclusively a marketing scam. Tournaments have real value to them in and of themselves regardless of what table or person(s) promote them.

This latest National’s announcement of Mary Moore’s while sounding good is little more than her attempt to step up a basic regional promotion which hopefully will appeal to a few touring pros, thus call it Nationals. This is basically the reason I give the tournament little if any hope to promote “National” scope. Call it negative, but it will just be the same ‘old same ‘old.

I have decided that since Worlds has left DFW (Dallas) That I will actively seek a sponsor for a $50,000 Nationals. Actually, I have been trying to find a sponsor for some time now. I will just have to step up the effort.

What I mean by romance? The only, I repeat, the only way you will be able to attend Nationals is by qualifying. Entry fees will be paid for by qualifying so this is a free $50,000 tournament. Hard to beat free.

What would the qualifying events be? Would they be state/regional events of all player rankings? Sounds interesting and I just wanted to hear a little more...
