Good News - Local Foosball Advertising

A place for Utah foosers to communicate and exchange

Postby Foosfest on Tue Jul 18, 2006 2:57 pm

Beginning 7/29 the Tribune will be posting our foosball tournaments in the "Close-up" section of the paper indefinitely until I tell them otherwise. For sure it will be in the Sugarhouse Close-up because the Sugarhouse Close-up covers downtown, but the person I'm working with is going to see if she can get it in the other Close-up areas as well. Each area of town get's it's own Close-up section delivered in the regular paper showing local events for that area. I explained that we want people from all over so she is going to see if the editor will let that go even though it's supposed to be a local thing and not necessarily for the whole of Utah. This is free advertising done as a community service by the Tribune.

I've also submitted our tournaments to be listed in the City Weekly events listings. I'll let you know if that comes through. Anything, Nick, on the community calendar - that was a great idea? We should utilize whatever free advertising we can think of. Also, if anyone knows of boards in your local areas where we can physically or electronically post flyers, that couldn't hurt either.

I just called and they said all they need is an email to amemail@fox13.com/communitycalendar letting them know what is going on. What I don't know is the time table of when you need to send it by. The lady I talked to didn't have anymore info because she was an intern.
I hope this helps.

P.S. I will be in Ogden working so I won't be able to send it off this weekend. But if you want me to next week, just send me a post or private message.

Nick,

Do you want me to send the info on when we have our tournaments to the email you posted? Will they leave it on there since our tournaments are ongoing? If it helps, I don't mind sending the info off. Let me know. I'm not familier with the Fox 13 Community Calendar. How do you access that?

I think we have to send it weekly. But they will post it for us. It would be nice if they could set it up on auto or something similar. Just email to the adress that i posted earlier and they said they would take care of it from there.
